There are several ways to experience the "Meditate and Relax Series"-- either in short
workshop form, in modules, or as a 7-week series. Check the schedule page to see which of
these is being offered currently. See the description below for information on what may be
included in these classes.
The "Meditate and Relax" series offers ways to focus and calm your mind, relax your body
and reduce stress in your daily life. Whether a 2-hour, 4-module or 7-week series, a variety of
meditation and relaxation techniques will be explored, and will include instruction in
meditation techniques, experiential practice and guided relaxations, with emphasis on one
or more of the following:
* Breath and body awareness meditation, using pranayama, physical awareness and
movement as a form of meditation
* Mantra meditation, concentrating on the use of sound as a form of meditation.
* Chakra Meditation- focusing on aspects of the body's energy systems as a form of
meditation.
* Vipassana, mindfulness meditation; and Metta, the meditation of loving kindness.
When practiced regularly, meditation can create greater physical health, increased
awareness, emotional equilibrium, mental clarity and a sense of peace. Most importantly
meditation can lead to a deeper understanding of your essential nature.
